EDGEWOOD FARMER'S MARKET
The Edgewood Farmer's Market is a member of the New Mexico Farmer's Marketing
Association, and as such supports the Association's definition of a farmer's
market:
"A public market place where fresh foods from a defined local area are sold by the people who have grown, gathered, raised or caught them."
2005 Market Rules and Regulations
1. Vendors will be charged $5.00 per space on a daily basis. You may pay a
seasonal rate of $25. This fee is due at the first market of the season that
you attend. If you elect to pay on a daily basis, it is your responsibility
to pay the market manager before leaving for the day. Failure to do so will
result in the suspension of vending privileges.
2. There will be no reserved spaces. Vendors will set up on a first come, first
served basis in the area marked for sellers. Vendors using tents or canopies
must stake or weight them down in the interest of public safety.
3. Growers are only allowed to sell fresh fruits and vegetables grown by them
in the state of New Mexico. Any exceptions to this must be approved by the market
manager. With prior approval you will be allowed to sell home grown produce
from another vendor.
4. Vendors selling nursery stock, cut flowers, meat, dairy or eggs must give
the market manager copies of the appropriate inspection certificate, permits,
product liability insurance, dealer license, and/or slaughter license. Live
animals at the market must be pre-approved.
5. Vendors selling processed foods must give the market manager copies of your
current food processing license and product liability insurance (minimum $1
million coverage).
6. Local craft vendors wil be allowed a space as long as the ration of farmers
to crafters is at a minimum of 4 to 1. Spaces will be make available strictly
on a daily basis. No seasonal rates will apply. All crafts must be produced
by the vendor. No reselling or commercial products are allowed.
7. Vendors will display a clearly visible sign bearing their farm or business
name and location.
8. The premises of the market will be kept clean and free of litter or rubbish.
You are responsible for cleaning your own space.
